Why Social Media Likes Are Useful

Social Media "Like" buttons are everywhere and on every Social Media platform. People are constantly being encouraged to "Like" content, "Like" pages, "Like" pictures, "Like" videos - but why?

Well, the answer is both simple and complicated. In it's simplest form "Likes" on Social Media allow us to validate and approve something with a single click, without having to type anything. However, there's a lot more that can be gained from getting "Likes".

So you've posted something on Social Media, and people "Like" it. This means that some other people have thought what you've posted is good.

But apart from you now knowing that some other people think what you're doing is good - what do people you don't know about think about it?

Well, if you get just a few Likes for some content you post other people may think that you don't have a lot of engagement on your Social Media platforms. Or they may think that if you have a lot of followers (or page Likes) but only received a few Likes for the piece of content you just posted then perhaps the content wasn't actually that well received. After all, some people just click the "Like" button on everything!

BUT - If you get a lot of Likes for some content you've just posted not only does it look good to you (the person who posted the content) but it subconsciously tells other people that what you're posting is good, is being well received by other people and should be taken notice of.

This makes getting likes really important when trying to subconsciously persuade potential customers to trust your business.
